Poster: A snowHead

I will be in Morzine Jan 21 for a few days and was wondering if there are any bars which are not full of drunken teenagers, I am looking for one which is full of drunken 50 year olds, any suggestions?

There's one that sells 9% Mutzig beer - surprisingly drinkable and unsurprisingly potent. I can't remember its name (too much Mutzig ) but someone may be able to enlighten you.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Chris_55, I would recommend Robinsons for apres - has a nice vibe that spills outside. Also Dixie bar nearby wasn't as loud and busy as Budha Bar when I was there last Jan.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

It would be rude to go to Morzine and not sample some Mutzig at Robbos! However, under no circumstances should you let yourself be persuaded to take the "Mutzig Challenge". Second Dixies for a chilled out Irish Pub, often with some live music though will be rammed if there's football on.
There's also a great Wine Bar on the main street that has a heated patio backing on to the ice rinc with sheepskin chairs and blankets provided. Top wine list and an excellent selection of Malt Whisky as well. Bit pricier so keeps the yoof away and your drinks normally come with a nice plate of assorted nibbles.
Cavern, Coyote and Buddha get busier a bit later with Buddha normally hosting the more "Mature" crowd and Cavern the Seasonairres regular haunt.

Oh, can recommend this bar (and no, I can't remember the name of it either). Yes, expensive drinks but nibbles were cheese/meat/olivey things, not just crisps, so worth it. Nice atmosphere and a change from dancing in yer ski boots to DJ Otzi. (Not that there's anything wrong with that! )

Excellent, thanks for the feedback. I rather fancy the wine bar. I have nothing against yoof, having been one of their number in the past, but a bottle or two of Veuve Clicquot or something similar, and self-replenishing platters of nibbles does appeal at this stage of my life. Happy to share aforementioned with any immature mature Snowheads who happen by when I'm there. Please pm me if likely.

maggi, it's "coup de couer", owned by the owner of the rather fine Chamade pizzeria & restaurant across the road.

Depends a lot where you are staying or if it is just for Apres on the way off the slopes

Cafe Chaud - if it's still on the go...? A bit off the beaten track but was reasonably chilled but still coolish several years ago.
Now I think about it it was 5 years ago, so probably a crack den by now...
