Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

senior skier - Morzine 20-26 Jan, then Cham ? in March

Hi
I'm Chris from North Wales. Having started skiing a little bit later in life than many (at the age of 47) I'm now aged 55 and making some progress. I have done the Vallee Blanche and enjoy pisted black runs such as the Charles Bozon down from the Brevent. I am starting to learn off piste and still rather perplexed by moguls. I am a cautious skier since being self-employed I need to avoid time off work due to injury if possible.
I will be in Morzine 20-26 jan then plan to return later to Cham for a few days.
Would like to get in touch with skiers in the same age group.

Chris_55, welcome to snowheads. You are a mere stripling at 55; I thought I was going to be reading about an octogenarian!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thank you! I intend to still be skiing when I'm 80.
I do Snowdon or something similar most weeks (how fortunate I am to live here!) - so I'm keeping fairly fit for my age.
My knees are complaining a bit, but once I've put a pair of those neoprene knee gadgets on - the ones with a circular hole in the front - all is well.
Can anyone recommend an instructor in Morzine?
I need to work on my powder and mogul techniques.

Hi Mate,
I am 50 plus and ski 2 to 3 times a year.
Usually do low cost short breaks to Austria using Ryanair and trains.
My knees are also starting to give up though !!!
Cheers......

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Chris_55, try BASS in Morzine.
Quite understand the caution - mine is just so that I can keep on skiing!

immer schuss,
Hi, that sounds nice. I remember when I was 17, staying at the Taschach Hut (? spellling) above Solden in the Otztal, and doing several easy climbs from there including Wildspitze and Fluchtkogel. Do you know if that hut is still there? Can you ski in that area in winter?

Pamski,
Hi Pam, thanks for that, I think I will take your advice on that, I had some excellent tuition by Derek Tate at Cham 2 years ago, I didn't realise that they are in Morzine as well.
