Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Another British avalanche victim

Poster: A snowHead
As reported in Le Dauphine

Briton swept away by an avalanche is between life and death This Sunday around 9:30 at Val d'Isere, two successive avalanches took away a couple of sixties British who played off piste in the valley of the signal in the area of Fornet. The woman could trigger the air bag safety, a move that saved her. However, the man was covered by a meter of snow. He was found in a state of cardiopulmonary arrest by riot police helicopter and the Alps to Grenoble University Hospital.

Hopefully he will be ok

Very tough , sking with experienced guides and well equipped, but sounds as if dead when discovered. At least one of them survived thanks to the air bags. Crying or Very sad

The dauphine article to my schoolboy french says he was discovered in a state of cardiorespiratory arrest. It might be wrong of course newspapers often are.

It says he was between life and death, not that he was dead. UK papers are reporting similar. Granted it doesn't look promising.

Colin B, Well lets hope he survives, but the article kind of suggests that he had arrested when discovered and they are trying to resuscitate him.

dreadful news and skiing with a very experienced guide.

It really does make me think that an airbag is a worthy investment.

Thoughts go out to the families involved.

Very sad story, deepest condolences...

Especially difficult for the son, who is competing currently in the Sydney Hobart Race..
