I am a size 10 and 5'1 and am after brown salopettes.
I am finding it hard to find some, can anyone recommend some?
What are the minimum features that i need?
Thanks

Locky12, don't know if they do them in brown, but Schoffel do ladies ski pants in a shorter leg length

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Wont shortening them affect the waterproofness as your are cutting off the taped seems?
And if they have zips which are handy for putting on boots?
Thanks

Always have to get mine shortened. sewing machine or needle and thread is the answer (plus obliging wife of course).
Does'nt seem to efferct the waterproof status. As the work is really around the boot area rather than the actual leg, it doen't matter anyway.

I am also only 5'1" and my old pants were Bonfire Blur snowboarding pants. They seemed to be much shorter than the skiing brands of pants, although a little baggy in the leg/bum area as is the fashion with snowboarding gear. They were great but now just need new ones.
Have just bought myself new skiing pants - North Face freedom pant - and got them taken up by a local alterations shop for £20. You wouldn't know the difference. The internal cuff with the elastic is still in its original place as that tends to be around the mid calf. The thing to look out for is fairly plain outer cuffs, ie no zips, as it makes it easier to be shortened and hemmed. You could easily do it yourself if you have a good sewing machine, strong needles and tough thread - and the guts to take a pair of scissors to a relatively expensive garment!
Including my alterations cost, they still worked out cheaper than buying the short length Shoffel ones. I didn't actually like the fit of them on me so wasn't tempted to pay £200!

then you put the zip back in again. Simples. Or actually, not that simples - takes some sewing skills, which seem to be in short supply these days!

Have you considered turn ups?
Perhaps some trendy companies who make the for people who wear them with their back bottom hanging out will have some that fit. Stab on the Snowboard section will know ( for Stab)
