Poster: A snowHead

Thinking of getting snow socks for use in North Dublin, not paticulary hilly , more more the snow /icy roads
I know socks are'nt as good as chains and are not allowed in the Alps, but looking for something easy to fit and for occasional use here. We have two cars with similar sized wheels. Are socks desgined to fit one wheel size only or is there flexibility
In France (not skiing) in a couple of weeks and may bring chains home, flying from Girona home , are chains permitted in hand luggage

the snow socks come in sizes like chains do, the socks have a number ie. 540 / 580 / 695 / etc
the different sizes will fit a few different wheel sizes
