I bought a North Face soft shell jacket in a market in Shanghai for £19. It's clearly not genuine - but it's a REALLY good jacket!!

dazman, A few years ago, as yourself, I found an eBay seller from china, Spyder ski jacket and salopetes £1 delivery £30. thought well it's got to be fake but I'll have a go anyway, when it turned up on close inspection there was no dowt thath it was fake, from a few feet away you really couldn't tell the difference, kept it for a couple of trips, stuck it on eBay advertised with no brand but pictured with the label in full view, and described as no guarantee on actual manufacturer, sold for £50

Lots of clothing companies get the stuff made in China. Do Spyder? If so, could be made in the same factory. But depends what you mean by "the real deal".

This stuff is not real and is a rip off. You can tell a real Spyder from a fake one easily and it's basically to do with the cut and quality of the material. Superficially they look good but I saw one fella in Serre Che last year with a fakie and it had had the look and feel of a 1980's Luhta jacket. He was from Romford.........
By all means buy one but do know what you are getting into.
