Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Which transfer from Salzburg to st Johann in Tirol??

 Poster: A snowHead

Can anyone recommend the easiest/cheapest transfer from Saltzburg airport to St Johann in Tirol please. I`m visiting a friend and have absolutely no experience of Austria.

Also does anyone know of cheap accommodation in the town for a single person ( rolling eyes ), would be for a month, cheap flat, hostel, anything.

Many thanks,

Susie

St.J isn't that far from Salzburg.

First choice would be to jump a transfer coach if you're travelling at the weekend. Have a chat with a TO before you go.

Taxis are not too expensive, Schroeders are good, but you don't have anyone to share the price with.

Train would mean a transfer coach to the railway station then, if I remember right, change at Worgl or Kufstein.

Accommodation wise, try Annelies at the Bachlweberhof. Very friendly and not expensive, but very basic.

Cheap rooms above Bunnys Pub, but noisy. Marie at Haus am Horn for better quality and real Austrian hospitality.

Better still, why not get your friend to use some contacts?

Hope you enjoy St.J. I worked a few seasons there and had a great time.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

susieski, train is easy enough. About 2:20 with just the one change at either Schwarzach-St Veit or Worgl. Occasionally there is a direct service. All you need to do is jump on the bus from the airport to the Hauptbahnhof.

Just be careful which St Johann you ask for.
