Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A New Approach In Ski Technique

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
The new approach is based on a "carving turn on the inside ski". If you are not a stranger to skiing, you will immediately notice that this contradicts a fundamental principle of long standing in the skiing world, i.e. turning by applying pressure to the outside ski. However, it does work and has been tried out by skiers of different standards, all of whom made exceptionally fast progress.

I showed it to two experts, one said that it has nothing new, another said that it is complete rubbish, so may be it is new after all... Google search on "pressure on the inside ski" gives mainly something like "Avoid putting too much pressure on the inside ski". However, it works so well - why is it not widely used and tought?

just came across this in J2ski.com
what do the experts make of this then

You need a much bigger range of lateral movement if you are going to carve on the inside ski. Not a skill that most skiers have. I was skiing on one leg on some cat tracks today (similar range of lateral movement required) and it was very challenging if the speed picked up.

Joubert detailed it and didn't care for it much.

There are some enthusiasts for it on here. Apparently you need to have your boots mounted like a duck to really get the best from it.

Bewar of 'new' ski techniques. If you can do it o skis, someone has done it.
