My MBU season pass arrived this morning and instead of the paper piste map they usually provide, this time they sent one printed on the type of cloth you use for goggle wipes. It's the first time I've seen this done - I'm rather impressed with the idea

Zero-G, I've seen these advertised and have, in fact, bought one for my brother who is the Piste Map King when we all ski together, and always wiping his glasses/goggles You can buy them for around £7.50, and for all sorts of resorts, but the one I have ordered is for St Gervais and area

Got one for Courchevel as a freebie at the ski show The printing isn't as clear as the paper maps but it won't get soggy and fall apart and I can clean my shades with it.

They don't do one of our area but I'm tempted by the Snowfinder book on Megeve etc as I don't know that area at all well, and as we only go there for the occasional day, it would be nice to sit with a glass of malt of an evening and plan a day over there. From the description it looks as though the focus is on-piste, rather than off (which would suit me fine). Is that right? Anybody used one of these books? Sound like a good buy at £2.99 - price of a vin chaud.

Spankys have been around for years, originated in North America IIRC. Glad to see they are making their way over to Europe too

My mate has a pair of salopettes with the Whistler piste map printed all over them (at least I think it was Whistler)!

Shame the paradiski la plagne map hasn't got the new Derechoir piste shown on it. I wonder how old the map they are using is?

Week before last I think, not massive stress. I have ben sad enough to over mark the open lifts on the paper map I have, been 3V before, and the meribel ap seems brilliant, maps showing where you are , what's open and what timetge lifts shut. I will keep it as back in march. More of a concern is ESF deciding today that my 3 year 11 month old daughter is not old enough for lessons, even though in October and November no problem, such is life. Conditions look great and this time tomorrow Iwill be in a hot tub with a glass of wine, waiting for dinner!!! So life is good. Thanks for all the help and banter to every one, even nixmaps. My OH has found a ski resort in CH she fancies so might need his advice yet!!

They were giving out three valleys ones at their stand at the Ski Show, which will be useful for my trip there next month.
Just remember not to blow your nose on it thinking it's a hanky.....there might be more green runs appearing on the map than there should be

I am sure I read somewhere that snowHead's most favourite/controversial resort has a similar product - but on toilet paper

altis, openpistemap not bad but don't think about it if you want to ski in Murren, according to openpistemap there are no runs there at all, across the valley above Wengen several runs are missing from the map and one lift

Openpistemap relies on user-generated piste data. Well volunteered D G Orf
