Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Tignes ski tuition - intermediate

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi
I'm off to Tignes Le Lac for Christmas and would like to book lessons, preferably with a British instructor/ski school. I've skied a few weeks before and am at low intermediate (blues and easier reds) level. After a good start, I am struggling to move my skiing up to the next level and really need to improve my confidence.

I would be really grateful for any recommendations.

One I have looked at is Ultimate Snowsports - are they any good?

Thanks
Very Happy

skibunny1968, Welcome to Snowheads. I've used The Development Centre several times, they are very good. There are a couple of Tignes instructors post on here too who I believe are very good, Stewart Woodward and Rorie, they'll probably see this thread. I don't know about Ultimate I'm afraid.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I can also recommend Evolution 2.

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. I was told TDC were more geared to higher level skiers, but having looked at their website I think I'll give them a call. I'll also look up Evolution.

Rorie Scott http://www.abraskidabra.com/
He is absolute quality and would suit you perfectly. Stewart Woodward couldn't take our lesson and recommended Rorie, and now I do the same Laughing

skibunny1968, I did one of the TDC coaching clinics (the one they call "discovery") when I was skiing blues and easier reds and thoroughly recommend it. Actually at that stage I was still pretty scared of reds even though I was perfectly capable of the easier ones at least. That was in Val d'Isere a few years ago now.

skibunny1968, Would highly recommend Stewart Woodward if he's available. Find one of his posts and click on his link to e-mail him. Also heard lots of good stuff about Rorie.

I would second (or is that "sixth"?) the Development Centre - had some great lessons with them a couple of weeks ago.

Don't want to thread hijack but does anyone know a Ski School in tignes that does three morning beginner courses, my wife is just starting out but doesn't know if she wants to commit to a whole week of lessons. Any suggestions?

Cindy Charlon, Evolution 2, Tignes Val Claret. Good eye for the problem and good understanding of the solutions. Enormously enthusiastic and energetic, will work tirelessly to improve your skiing and get your desired outcome. Speaks good English and can really get important ideas across. She is French though!
