Yes - very interesting!
I know that they must have been tested but I'd be worried about snow getting under the skins, between the clips....
It would be good to hear from someone who had used them.
$150 a go, so comparable in price to "real" skins.

Weathercam, that's how skins used to be attached before glue.
I have some old clip-skins kicking round somewhere. Infact, those look almost identical to my 30+ year old skins.
There are some drawbacks, hence why glue is so widely used.
First major problem I remember is the skin sagging once wet, and snow and ice building up between the skin and the ski base.
The other issue is that the side clips reduce edging performance on hard ice, and can get unclipped.
Fair enough, glued skins can be a real PITA, but less hassle once on the ski than clips.

snow_muncher, think your point about edging performance on early morning spring snow i.e ice when having to use crampons etc is very valid and worth asking - that said think I'll make do with mine for another season

Ditto that - first skins I ever used were a borrowed pair of glueless jobbies, and were a PITA. Not worth gettting IMHO, as current skins work so well...
