Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

La Tzoumaz, good snow

A good amount of snow has fallen here in La Tzoumaz. Unfortunately the lifts are only open on the other side of the hill at Verbier but things are looking great for a good start to the season. I skinned up to Savoleyres today in plenty of fresh snow and sunshine.....beautiful!! Very Happy Very Happy

I stayed there a few years ago, we arrived to no snow at all below the top of Savoleyres. GF was a first timer, so the commute to a usable nursery slope (Les Esserts) was up and down a (slow) gondola, then a bus ride. The nursery slope itself was a sheet ice combover surrounded by grassy meadows. A couple of members of the group mooted just sacking the whole deal off and going home.

Then, on Monday night, the temps dropped to minus ten million (approx) and 100s of cms of snow came down. Tuesday morning, 100% cover. Totally amazing.

I liked La Tzoumaz overall.

Skiied La Tzoumaz for the first time yesterday - great base of snow, but due to either heavy snow on branches and/or windstorm, there's quite a bit of pine tree debris on some of the narrower pistes - also, some hard snow/ice on some pistes in the shade, but otherwise, absolutely beautful sunshine and wide open skiing - even the reds are reasonable to ski for this low-intermediate skiier! Off piste pretty well skiied, so not a lot of fresh snow.
