Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mountain Equipment / Ronhill / Sprayway sale

The Outdoor Sports Company - owners of the Mountain Equipment, Ronhill and Sprayway (and possibly other) brands - is holding a factory sale at their mill in Hyde, near Manchester on the weekends of the 4th/5th and 11th/12th of December. Opening times: 9-4 on Saturday and 10-2 on Sunday.

There's usually loads of bargains to be had; some full spec, many seconds and the occasional test sample. Well worth a visit for anyone within striking distance.

Seeing as I only live 150 yards away I think I'll go and have a look. Thanks for the heads-up.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

See if you can beat the 25 quid I paid for a Gore Tex Pro-shell jacket (unfortunately not for me but as a gift for someone else) from the same people at one of their on-the-road events earlier this year Smile

I got there at 9:05 and it was chaos. Had a quick look saw some stuff I liked then saw the que for the till and came home. I might go back later.

Similar to above - got there at 9.45 and pure chaos. Amazing lack of organisation. The queue for the till snaked round the whole room meaning it was a struggle to actually look at the stuff.

I did have a quick look at some of the racks and the stuff I saw wasn't that cheap - £90 for a jacket with 2 broken zips. Whether all the "good stuff" had been snapped up earlier not sure.

I think it's on next week too for those with sharp elbows and the patience of a saint.

Perhaps I shouldn't have advertised it here! We went early-ish, gave up, did some shopping, went to a friend's house and then went back about 4pm when it was much quieter. I'll agree that much of it was relatively expensive rubbish but Mrs A managed to score a Gore-tex jacket for £10. It had been returned because one half of the collar popper had fallen off. We only spent £30 in total which is much less than we usually manage. There seemed to be a very high proportion of hard shell jackets this year and little 'techy' stuff. But plenty of sleeping bags though if anyone is looking. Long gone are the days when Tracksters were £5 for two pairs it seems.
