Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Helmets for little ones

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Our little one made his first foray onto the slopes of Whistler at the weekend which went pretty well Very Happy Very Happy so we're now thinking of investing in some kit (hired it all this time).
We're still debating the rental vs buy thing for skis and boots, but one thing we're definitely buying is a helmet.
It does come down to fit of course but does anyone have any recommendations? He's 2 1/2 but has a giant noggin for his age Happy
The POC POCito one is nice, and though of course money is not really the main issue here, $200 a pop will get expensive if he grows out of helmets quickly (thats as much as my expensive top-end Giro one whose predecesor demonstrated was pretty good at taking knocks!) - how quickly do kids heads grow? Most seem to have some adjustment but is this enough to keep them in it for a few years?

I just bought my son the POCito (he's 4 and a big boy) and given how much adjustment it has left it seems he should be able to get two years out of it. The shop owner says his son still uses one and he's six yrs old. I'm sure these helmets will have a good resale value.

Kid's heads grow slower than the rest of their body, so he should get a few years out of it. In about 7 years of skiing, our eldest has only changed helmet size once.

My son got a poc last year and it still fits this year.

My daughters is good for her second year too.

I think buying one that fits the head shape is the most important thing. Some just seem to fit. Others just don't - irrespective of the theoretical size
