Poster: A snowHead
|
I have used this Wintersteiger Discman for four years and the bearings have gone. I sent it back to Austria but it is beyond economic repair. Just a chance ..... has anyone got one that hasn't been used to death on the plastic circuit that they want to sell? Otherwise I need to buy a new one! :(javascript:emoticon('')

Alun Williams, pretty poor at the price of it, bearings gone i could accept but surely it shouldn't cost much to put a new set in

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Dypcdiver, I like the idea which would be great if we were in a workshop. On the sides of a slope, with 2 sets to do between each run, the DiscMan has it's place! We have long tried to find something comparable and another source for the grinding discs - which are expensive (£30 + each).
CEM, I have had an email from their UK agent and asked if they have any scratched stock or refurbished models but haven't had a response. Time is running out on me to get it back and get UK bearings installed - it's revolution speed is, I believe, very high compared with most drills etc. It is worth another email carrying your thought forward!. Thanks.

Alun Williams, Quite simple really, no workshop required just replace the mains powered Dremel with the battery powered one. if you look at the photos you can see that the edge angle can be adjusted and so can the base angle. If you can't build one yourself then I am sure a halfway competent workshop could. BTW new stones work out at less than £2. but one will last 20+ pair of skis.

Alun Williams, I wonder if a local engineering company could help with a mend and installation of new bearings?
