Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

So many to choose from, any views on hotels for one night before flight with parking for a week? Do they all charge £4 pp per journey to get into the airport...? rolling eyes

Kiters, The £4 pp is on the Hopper bus IIRC. Think you need to it from the hotels. What you need to look at is where your car will be parked for the week and collection details.
If its parked at an off site car park, they will probably collect you for the terminal. If this is the case grab a taxi form the hotel rather than the hopper, might cost you a tenner rather than £8 but you hget there in comfort and quicker, much easier too if lugging boots and skis about.

We've only used the Holiday Inn when flying form Heathrow, it aint the best but its ok for a night. We only use it as we tend to go for +14 days and they give 21 days free car parking Smile

Enjoy the trip

Kiters, we used the Thistle in November last year when going to the States for 8 days from T5. Arrived middle of the evening have had dinner elsewhere - all fine, except there is no lift so we lugged the rather heavy suitcases up the stairs and along the corridor - and then down again early the next morning. In retrospect we realised that we would have been much better leaving the suitcases in the car overnight and just taking up a small bag, and then collecting the suitcases before getting the shuttle the next morning. All the cars there appear to be parked in their car park for the whole week or whatever. I think I paid the extra night for the 8th night's car parking (as we had seven nights on the deal) when we arrived so no hassle later on. The hoppa was £4 each - so would only have been an extra £2 for us to take a taxi but the bus came on time. I think I might have been tempted to take a taxi back on the return as the wait for the bus seemed a bit tedious but then we were tired by then.

We are doing the same thing on Christmas Eve but staying at the Holiday Inn this time - not sure why, he booked it, maybe a bit closer to T3. The deals all seem good value compared with the car parks or taking a taxi from home, at least you know you are there (Heathrow) rather than that dread of the M25. And I think the bus will be £4 each again, each way.

I can't remember which hotel I used - there are so many to choose from - but I used offsite parking which was very good, the car was parked in a field for a fortnight (but a secure field) and there was a free shuttle to and from the terminals.

Kiters, which terminal are you leaving from? if its T1or 3 then a hotel on the A4(bath road) is closest. If you are at T4 or T5 then they have Hotels right at the terminals (Hilton for 4, not sure for 5) but they might be more expensive.

Local buses around Heathrow are free but might be a struggle with luggage. From the bath road the 555 goes to T4, 285 goes to T1-3 and 423 goes to T5.

Colin B, There are, Bath Road is the one we usually use as they gave 21 days parking and easy to get too. Smile
