Austrians clinched a 1,2,3 in training yesterday, my Euros are on Svindal or Guay to take it.If Plugboy is about, why no TJ? Saw him on the training lists?
One to watch is a local lad from here, Joachim Puchner start number 36, came 7th yesterday in training, very young and a definate star of the future.

Aren´t the gate flags in DH supposed to be all red? They have a weird mix of blue, then red and then red and white flags

kooky, Unfortunately there is only 1 start place for GB in WC DH at the moment. TJ crashed out in first training run, 2nd run cancelled then completely screwed the 3rd run. He's in the cafe on the mountain with Ed.
He's off to Aspen tomorrow to do the 2 Nor-Am GS races then on to Beever Creek for the next WC DH training runs. Possibly doing the WC GS at Beever Creek, then back up to Lake Louise for 2 Nor-Am DH's on the same course as the WC. Then more Nor-Am's at Panorama.
Yes Good luck to ED. The course is very bumpy and icy!!
Just as a side note. One of the new Austian mens speed coaches is Wolgang Graubner. He was one of the GB team coaches for a number of years and coched both TJ & Ed. TJ said he was best coach he'd ever had. He wanted to run the whole team GB coaching system, had a 4 year plan for the team, but was not taken up because of the funding issues etc. So Team Austria snapped him up instead!!! Big loss for team GB IMO!

Plugboy,  Good luck in Aspen, I saw he had a crash in the training, hope he´s ok? You know the old saying "after the race is before the race"
LB broke his hand last Friday and I have had to pull him from the early races, he is in Sölden now just tech skiing, it´s bitterly disappointing.

Plugboy, the new Austrian head coach (Mathias Berthold) is also an ex GB team coach. Other examples of Austrians who have coached GB then gone on to work for the OSV: Charly Kahr, Dieter Bartsch, Walter Hubmann, and probably many more - it does seem to happen fairly often...
