Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

K2 Hardside size

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi snowheads peeps, I'm lookin for some size advice for a pair ok k2 hardsides. I am 5'11" (180cm) and 12 1/2 stone (78kg) and am really strugging with which size to get, the 174 or the 181. I like to ski fast and generaly like a ski that is on the large side for me, around a 178 or so. However I am aware that K2's usually come up a bit longer than other brands for the same marked size which would point me towards the 174. But on the other hand the hardside has a rocker at the tip which pretty much removes some of the effective edge, which would make me swing towards the 181.

As you can see I am going round in circles here, so can any of you help? Anyone ride a set of Hardsides?

Thanks guys.

floor tom, welcome to snowHead

You have it covered off, K2 run long compared to some skis 'lengths'. You will lose the extra running length with the rocker, get the 181cm or you will forever feel like you got the short end of the snowblade...

Will do, its a shame that you can get last years hardsides in 174 in the sale. Still, if they're too small then its not a good deal is it?

Thanks guys
