Can someone help me and recommend me some new/nearly new skis?
As the title suggests, I’m looking for some new skis.
My skiing style is mainly on piste and fast, pretty much flat out all the time so I want something stable at speed.
I was looking at some 2010 K2 Apache cross fires, reduced to £360 with bindings, which seems a decent price, but I’ve been told these are not too stable at high speed so may not be the ones to go for.
I had a look in a local shop the other day and they have suggested the Atomic Blckeye, or Black eye ti (450 – 500 notes) but it’s getting expensive now.
Also, they have so Salomons for a similar price that are recommended for a similar price.
Being a tight northerner, I’d rather go away for a 3rd weeks skiing that spend a fortune on skis I’m looking for a decent deal.
Can anyone point me in the right direction/make/model of ski to look out for either new or second hand, or even land seasons stock.
For info, I'm 6'2" ish, 14 stone, skied since I was 3 so 28 years or so.

Like I said in your previous thread, go for the Crossfires. If you're on-piste and want to go fast, they're awesome.

i've skied the Crossfires and they were very fast, responded very well to being driven fast and as smooth as you like. Pretty stable for a piste orientated ski as well.
Probably better skis out there, but for that money i'd be snapping them up if you need a ski for what you describe.

out of the two, i'd be tempted by the blackeyes, only because they'd suit a wider range of conditions more.
Crossfires are still great skis though.

I would definitely not count out the Volkl Ac30s - sounds like we ski in a similar way, and I couldn't fault them for fast, stable piste skiing. They've got a relatively high turning circle and although I've not really tried it yet are rumoured to go pretty well in the powder (although I'm not sure if I'd take them on a whole day of off-pisting...)

if you could find lasy year's magnums i can highly reccomend those, but you may struggle to find them cheap
