Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hello

Planning on getting a new pair of skis this winter and was thinking about the new k2 rictors. Anyone have any advice on these? Thanks.

I bought a pair of these the other month! I tested wateas and lords and it was recommended I gave the rictors a go. I was a bit skeptical as I tried some crossfires and recons in the past and didn't get on with them at all for some reason. Anyway I had a go on these and was v impressed, although its hard to test properly in the dome. Didn't think much of the lords and the wateas and rictors I thought fairly equal, but the rictors just felt more responsive and fun to me so went with them!

I suspect they are better on piste than off so depends what kind of skiing you normally do, but I don't think u would go too far wrong with them!

Would always recommend testing a few diff skis out before buying if u can!
