Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

ski hire in La Daille

Hiya

A group of us are off to Val in late January 2011 staying in the Champs Avalin Hotel in La Daille. We've had problems before with finding the closest (and decent) ski hire shop to the hotels we've been staying in - google maps doesn't seem that reliable and the tour companies generally want to push you towards a shop they have a partnership with regardless of the proximity to the hotel or the level of service.

Does anyone know which shop is the closest to the Champs Avalin hotel or one that they've had experience of that is good and close?

Will want to hire online in advance to hopefully get on the slopes the day we arrive! Any advice on who to book skis with online would be good too - have used snowrental in the past which have been ok but they only seem to give you details or one or two shops.....

Any help and advice from people that have been recently would be gratefully accepted Very Happy

Ta very much!

From memory there is only one, or possibly two, places in La Dialle for hiring kit. However, Val d'Isere is only a short and free bus ride away, the buses run every few minutes. Some of the ski hire places will deliver skis to you accommodation and will collect it at the end of your holiday. Last winter we had good service from http://www.snowberry-valdisere.com .

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

This place: http://www.lapoudreuse.com/. I think it's the best ski hire shop in Val, and they have a shop in La Daille too.

Thanks I'd seen La Poudeuse and thought it looked good. If it's pretty central in La Daille might go for that one...does anyone know where you can get a decent map of the resort centre eg. val and la daille on the internet?
