Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Does anyone have any information about this hotel ?
I understand its being refurbished but does that mean its fully open for business ?
Is there likely to be building works going on ?

Any info greatly appreciated.

Was being refurbished over the summer (saw men at work), work didnt look major so guess it will be fully open. Now Re-named Milk Hotel. On www.lescarroz.com you can find some details of the hotel and it says opens 18th Dec to 25th April for the winter season. Try contacting hotel, gathered from guests in their bar over last few years that previous owners (Bois de la Char) spoke good english. Or call/email tourist office, they have some reasonable English speakers. Hotel at foot of the Red slope to village with button outside for night skiing 2 nts/week. Ski out from hotel down short green run to gondola station to access Massif and Grand Massif area. 1km up road from village centre so a good walk to/from evening restaurants and bars, unless to eat and drink in the hotel itself.
I am looking forward to another season in Les Carroz! need lots of snow over next 5 weeks!

I stayed there a few years back, location was excellent, rooms and food were ok, owners, bar, measures and price were great!!

But new owners, new prices and a full refurb, so apart from location I guess everything has changed Inc the web site!!

Cheers,

Gteg

Stayed there 6 years ago. All things have changed as per the previous commments, but apparently after we stayed there they needed to. What you cannot take away from the place is a pretty perfect location for ski in ski out, unless you cant get down a reasonably easy Red run. Rather walk to town than walk to ski ing!

Thanks for the info.
I have been quoted 88 euro pppn for half-board which is OK (actually a bit more than I want to pay) in Feb.
Their new website is www.milkhotel.fr but looks like it isn't finished yet - just like the hotel ?
Strange name for a hotel - don't they serve any alcohol ? wink

We stayed there a group of 4 blokes 4 years ago on a Monday to friday short break. I tore my calf muscle on that easy red in deep very wet snow, but otherwise had a great time and I know they served beer then as I had to drink loads in the evening to dull the pain. Looking at the web site it looks like they have done a refurb new chairs etc, it was simple and friendly whilst we were there.
