Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Binding Swap Troubles

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have a set of salomon z12 ti's that were off my old salomon x-wing fury's, however they were attatched to a smartrack and therefore have smartrack plates,
I'm buying a set of scott mega dozer's soon and I want to mount these bindings onto them but need someway of attaching them! I'm assuming there's another plate I can buy that will alow me to attach the main body of my z12's to a plate which screws into the new skis but I'm having trouble finding anything!
Anyone have any ideas of what to do or where I can get a plate to attach it to or whatnot? would be very much appreciated, thanks! Very Happy

chazzr, welcome to snowheads!

All the smartrack rails i have used were part of the ski, my equipe sc's had it and it was built in.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I would just buy new bindings personally, z12 on a mega dozer wouldn't be a good combo....

also much easier to sell your olds skis on with bindings.

I've seen people run the z12 ti's with mega dozers a few times so thought they'd go ok, but I had doubts at first too. It'd be great if I could could both TBH I'm not really fussed about selling my x-wing's, they're great for piste work if I ever go back onto the piste, Smile

@carroz, the smartracks themselves are built into the ski, it's the plate's which attach my bindings to the smartracks I'm trying to change to normal plates Smile

yes positive, the only difference was that the bindings themselves were sat in a different plate before being attached to the skis, I'll try find the picture again

that one in the pic is on a rental binding... gotta funny feeling someone maybe borrowing them!

Z12's on fat skis from my experience either A. brake or B. constantly pre-realse be a shame to ruin a nice pair of skis by cheaping out on the binding

DAMN DAMN DAMN you're right! If I could get some mounted properly it'd be ok, but looks like the only way is going to be rental style which I really don't want, looks like I'm selling the wife on the black market so I can get some bindings, thanks for the help!
