Poster: A snowHead

I have a pair of skis on eBay at the moment so hopefully they will need posting at some point next week. What is a good courier to use for posting skis?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

somebody just sent me a pair via parcelforce.
It cost £15.50 and they were picked up from scotland at 4pm and delivered at 8:30 the next morning in Yorkshire.
Pretty good i'd say...

Interparcel seconded. Cheapest, most reliable option I've ever found, no restrictions on size, and cost me about £10 to post a pair of skis from London to Scotland next day.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

ive just posted a pair i sold last week through ebay, i originally was going to use interparcel but as i missed the times to collect last friday i took them to the post office this morning and sent them with parcel force. £19 including full tracking and insurance upto £300... Interparcel is a good service but its no cheaper than parcel force as the std insurance is only £50. when you add further insurance the price shoots upto the same as PF.

I had a pair of skis sent to me from Scotland by Parcelforce - needed to return them, so took to parcelforce depot and they refused them as they were too long! So skis can go from Scotland to England but not the other way?
Ended up going on to the Parcel2Go website and used HDNL (much slagged off on here as I discovered afterwards), and they were collected and delivered on time.

Interparcel again Sent quite a lot of things inc skis...and a package to Bulgaria.Never had a problem, consider them well priced and, every time, parcels have been collected by UPS and on time.Faultless from my POV.

Royal Mail / Parcel Force have a 1.5m length limit that is not always enforced.

6: What are the maximum weights and measurements for sending in Standard Parcels?
You can send parcels up to 20kg in weight. Parcels must be no longer than 1.5 metres, and the combined length and girth of your item must not exceed 3m. |

I just used APC and that cost £15 for next day. Not bad, just dropped them off.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Thanks for all the advice. Hopefully someone will want my Volkl Karmas and I'll use one of these couriers.
