Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Typical St. Anton Snow Conditions late March?

We just found a tour group visiting St. Anton the last full week in March. Would snow conditions typically be holding up well that time of year?

Always a great time to go, long days, snow sure and lazy beers in the sun at the end of the day, go for it!

Snow is always great that time of year, we ski Easter every year in St Anton and its a fantastic time to ski, right up to end April. We've had 15cm fresh powder on Easter Monday 2 years ago mid April, skiing in light layers etc, magic!! Very Happy

RISkier, like Markymark29 says it's a normally a great time of year to be there. And often some of the best off piste with a good solid base by then. And the longer evenings are perfect for finding a terrace and a cold beer. Very Happy

RISkier - Obviously stay as high as you can, Kapall brilliant off the back (but dont get tempted by Schoengraben its very dangerous late season), also Albona fantastic (route called Wirt) great off piste, plus Hintererendl............................happy days Madeye-Smiley

RISkier, should be very good snow depths but there's lots of sunny slopes in St Anton, so the strong spring sun can make things wet after lunch.

Early risers get the best conditions

Watch for dodgy avi conditions late in the day, but snow cover should be good.

Ditto everything that's been said so far.

I've skied there on the last weekend of the season (ie last weekend in April/first week of May) and been amazed at the cover - it was still possible to ski back to the village, albeit on very soft snow/slush - and conditions higher up were fantastic. Great stuff!

March will be nigh on full winter cover!

Thanks for the replies. Very helpful. Looks very tempting. Considering the weak dollar we weren't really considering Europe this year though we've really enjoyed our previous trips. Just bumped into a group trip organized by a ski club that seems like a good deal. Thanks again!
