Come to mention it, I think AM should do a cover of Das rote pferd, cheesy Austrian pop with a South Yorkshire twist. chalk and cheese comes to mind.

Leeds_Skier, Hitting the "Translate" button only adds to the confusion...milnerhome, It is brilliant but it's more of a "punch the air" type tune, as where Das Rote is song to do the ski-boot can-can to, which usually envitably ends in injury (But sure that's half the craic, isn't it?)
I'm gonna do up as definitive CD for this forthcoming season, and if the Admins ain't too push over copyright and stuff I could possibly share it, that's if anyone wants it?

dazman, I think youy must be correct. Cracking cheesey apres knowledge! It's definitely in my top 3 of Apres Ski songs, along with "Kom hol das lassoo raus" and "Du hast die harre schoen". I don't know more than ten words of German but can happily sing along to any of those!

Leeds Skier I thought that was the tracklisting from DJ Gerhart's 3rd album?
I love the tunes that have associated movements (Lasso Girls etc). I think it is great seeing a mass of people doing the same (or vaguely similar in most cases) movements while trying to shout louder than the biggest, baddest sound system in existence.
Since it is your specialist subject and ICBA to search on google, which is the one with the swim, swim, swim, strong, strong strong, tall, tall, tall chorus?

stanton, That has to be the dullest version of Per Spoor I've ever heard. It's nowhere near lively enough. Maybe the magic only works when your in ski boots and fully apresed up?
Do any of the apres music connoisseurs present know of a Dutch song about brushing your teeth?
The first time I went to Soll years ago, it was my sister's and some others first ski trip. For the first couple of days we (the lads) were trying to persued the girls that having a drink straight after skiing is obligatory, and more or less the law in Austria. The girls were having none of it and were adamant they were too tired and had to go back and shower and rest etc.
However one day the girls finished early to get ready for the TO' Reps gang show that evening and said they would see us at dinner.
When we finished skiing we thought we'd have a quick cheeky apres drink on the way back. When we got to the pub - Pub15 I think it was called - we were stunded to see the girls dancing on the tables completely versed in the art of signing along to cheesey apres music ! Some Dutch guys were trying to teach them the lyrics which they said was about brushing your teeth.
It turned out to be a great night as the girls were well and truly apresed up!
Any ideas?
