Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Easyjet to Grenoble.

We went last year on the 12th, and there was buckets of snow. Unlikely to have any issues at all, unless everywhere is screwed.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We went in Dec 07 and had an amazing time, helped with a massive dump so big it closed the roads to Tignes. We had hired a Megane Scenic and we could only see one wing mirror as the snow was so deep. Very Happy

Easyjet from numerous UK airports to Geneva.
Easyjet from Stansted to Lyon.
Possibly Jet 2 from assorted airports to Geneva (though not sure if they will have started by then?)

Ryanair (if you can get cheapo flights - beware the £80 ski carriage Skullie) from Stansted to Turin is also a possibity. The commute to Val D'Isere is do-able via the Frejus tunnel, Albertville etc. Snow conditons permitting you could also ski a resort or two of the Maurienne Valley en route - or access the 3 Vallees (Val Thorens - which will definitely be open) from the Italian side via the Orelle gondola. There's a cheap Ibis hotel near the town of St Jean de Maurienne.

In the all the years I have been living in Val d'Isere the 'worst' I can think of is when you could only ski at the tops of the mountains but for those who know Val d'Isere and Tignes that is the majority of the ski area... the 'worst' being that you had to download on the lifts after a days skiing.

However happy days there is already snow on top of the Solaise and other mountains so it looks like it will be a fantastic season - fingers crossed!

Providing the temperature is low enough to preserve it, the pistes will be fine thanks to the snow cannons - there are thousands of the bugs in Éspace Killey.
