Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

To add one that isn't a "coffee table" book:

Two Planks and a Passion: The Dramatic History of Skiing by Rolan Huntford. I was given this for Christmas last year and really enjoyed it.

Edge of Never by Bill Kerig is worth a read.

I've got two new (auto)biographies to read this autumn when I've got some spare time. The Race of My Life by Hermann Maier, and Unfinished Business, the Alain Baxter biography written by Andrew Ross.

"Off Piste" By Wayne Watson of Alpine Experience is a good read, with many stories about skiing but with an emphasis on safety. I remember reading one review that complained the book was not technical enough! You could buy via Wayne or Henrys Avalanche Talk at about £20. Today I see five copies on Ebay.

1873Chris, The Race of My Life by Hermann Maier is quite interesting. White Weekends by Tim Robbins is an excellent book. Loads of resorts covered and usefull as a reference book.

Ignores the Hollywood hype in the Heroes of Tellemark and one of the people who was in the raid for real tells the story as it really happened.

Personaly I'd skip "Off Piste" by Wayne Watson.
It's extremely opinionated, and bordering on technicaly inaccurate.
It's not even an enjoyable read because you can't get past the chip on the Authors shoulder.
