Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Test Technique

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hi All,

With the first few BASI training centers popping up this winter will anyone here be considering training/going for the test technique? Or has anyone already passed it and can comment on it a bit more?

I've heard alot of people saying unless you have a background in skiing slalom gates you will really struggle to ever pass the test technique, Is this true or does it just require some serious dedicated training?

Look forward to hearing peoples views on this!

Jamesc, there was a good thread http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?p=1501585&highlight=test+technique#1501585 perhaps you could review and add any new info to that one.... snowHead

Check that out, plenty of info. I didnt find it too hard to be honest. But then I had put in some dedicated training, over a period of time. Basically 6 weeks of slalom in total (5 days per week). Times were 1 second under after 3 weeks, and 3 seconds under after 6 weeks. So if you are decent coming into the training you can get fast pretty quickly.

Think BASS Morzine are getting training centre status. I expect there could be several more around the Alps. Everyone wins, ski schools can pay less, instructors get some good training and pay (comparative to elsewhere it is still good). Although it is hard to say just how many will emerge!?

I think its good to see, but too many and I doubt the French will like it much.
