Could be to reduce weight at the tips for easier spins (probably makes no noticeable difference though), depending on whether it's cutting the very tip off or widening it to make it square.

When I designed the first WDF ski (the One) I hadn't heard of Moment and i'm sure they hadn't heard of us. The square tip on our One was put on after requests from a couple of park riders who requested a square tip and tail for grabs. Some of our pro riders also noted that when a ski rises up through powder it rarely rises flat but rather on an angle making the corner of the squared tip be the first part of the ski to contact crust if there is one helping the ski break through. We also liked the look and stuck with it which is the main reaseon .
I can not comment why Moment skis have sqared tips but can comment that they, like many brands are making some great skis.
