Poster: A snowHead

High resort with glacier! This should be pretty good in April, right?
That is what I've told my friend. Also she wants to know if she should hire skies and boots via the tour company or get them herself in resort. I plumped for the resort option. Agree, disagree, any rental reccomendations?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

JulesB, book the ski rental online before she goes. Cheaper than in resort but she can choose her shop. If she books through the tour op then the hire shop could be the other side of town! I go with SkiSet and use their shop locator map thing to find the shop closest to my accommodation.

April conditions in the Espace? Resort near fully open, but can be slushy lower down in the afternoons if the sun comes out. Use factor loads suncream!

Kenzie, that's what I thought thanks. Normally ski Serre Che and VT in April. Will be in '11 hopefully. Just wanted to give best advice. Don't like it when people are exploited by tour operators.
Bergmeister, taht ski hire soun ds excellent and much cheaper than via a holiday booking. Will pass that on thanks.
