Libertine, You can walk across the village, and its a very short walk I think from the chalet, or take the Petit Train, or one of the ski buses so not a problem.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Libertine, if you are lucky with plenty of snow in village there is the 'White Road' which is an adapted footpath you can ski along to get over to Mont Chery. They re-routed this (slightly) last year, but I am pretty sure it runs from the bottom of Stade button lift and out past the end of the ice rink, along by the car park and out by the mini roundabout before the last few metres in front of the Mont Chery bubble. If not open, never fear, as Pamski says, it's really not a very long walk. We stay close to Mont Chery lift and boys were fine even when quite young (not sure if you have kids with you). Sometimes we hop on the Petit Train just for a change.....
