My extended family and friends want to go back to Borovets. It was their first time last Xmas and they fear change!
Even though there wasn't much  (any) snow I need some more reasons to deter them.
I want to go back to Austria or try Italy but they are not convinced.
Please help!

Yes, if someone isn't discouraged by having no snow, then there's probably no hope! red run luke, I'd just go somewhere nicer without them, if I were you.

lets gets this right. Book the holiday for the 11 to Bulgaria and I veer off at the airport and catch a flight to Innsbruck! lmao.

Hells Bells, I suppose that your first ski holiday, even in a place with very little snow, can be such fun that you can't believe how much MORE fun it can be with better conditions and facilities?

pam w, I think you've hit the nail on the head... when I was a student I went to Borovets 3 years in a row. Yes the snow was rubbish, and the food awful, and there were frequently stray dogs shagging at the foot of the pistes and prostitutes in the hotel lobby... but I was skiing for the first time since I was a little kid and it was so much fun (and the beer so cheap)! And, in all fairness, the instructors were absolutely lovely people - interesting, generous and hospitable...
After university I got a job in Paris, experienced the conditions and facilities of the French Alps, and never looked back... so, in all honesty, I wouldn't book a holiday in Bulgaria now but still got a soft spot for the place for reminding me how brilliant skiing is.
