My second topic in as many days - whooaaaa!
My son wants to get some snowblades! - I have read that its a very go way to to get an injury, I have also read that they are fun and can help you build confidence and balance.
You guys are my guru's.......what do you think?

Great as a teaching aid - you can use them to help ensure for instance that your weight is centred on the skis.
Not great for general whizzing around, there's a reason that ski racers use longer skis (and there's a minimum length requirement in slalom, in part due to the forces exerted when a binding releases)

red run luke, it might (lwu) be easier to use blades... But he will learn so much more by stepping up. And that is well before the issue of credibility even enters the arena...

If you want him to have friends and/or actually learn to ski then avoid them.
There may be *some* benefit in using them once or twice to instil fore/aft balance but fundamentally they are for people that can't ski because they turn on a sixpence with no technique required so introduce bad habits.
