Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

1969jma, I'm looking too, will keep my eye on this. Looks to me though, that for 2, B&B in a Pension doesn't cost any more.

1969jma, get in touch with Sidney Reilly - he's on here and has a really comprehensive web site listing all kinds of accommodation. He's based in St Anton, so a Goggle search on Sidney Reilly + St Anton should get you to his web page.

Have looked on there but they are generally bigger apartments, I'm really looking for a studio for 2.

Colin B, Depends on your budget. If you can afford them, the Hotel Anton appartments are probably located in the best location in town at foot of slopes. I've stayed in a few b&b's but the best without doubt was the Haus Angelika, but expect to pay over €70 a night but the location is superb. The other thing to do is look on the official St Anton website but problem you'll find is that the vast majority of owners will probably be on holiday just now and will not start taking bookings till July. Try getting in touch with sidney through his website and he might be able to come up with something. Decent bloke

Colin B, mail him, he seems to have "insider knowledge" and contacts. alternatively contact the tourist board. they are fluent and pretty efficient. I've never had any problems finding exactly what I was looking for in St Anton even in high season you can find accommodation that does not insist on a minumum stay of 7 nights! Just got to look and perserve.

I'll drop him a mail. Ideally I'm looking for something for 8 days, Sat - Sun, over the half term week. 7 days wouldn't be a disater though I could head back towards Zurich on the Saturday evening. I don't want to pay too much (€50 or so a night B&B, a little less for SC) , nor do I want to be anywhere too noisy (it will just be my daughter and me).

Colin B, I stayed at Talhof Nigg a few years back - clean and cosy b&b right at the start of the pedestrian zone - cost around €50 a night from memory. If you haven't been before may be better basing yourself in the Nasserein part of town and stay as close to the gondola as possible. This is quieter and cheaper but still gives you great access to the slopes, you can ski back there and is 5-10 min walk from the hub of things in town. Or you could base yourself in the new Mooserwirt Hotel that's getting built this year - that would be nice and quiet. To be honest I've never had an issue with noise and have always stayed pretty much in the main st.

boabski, Thanks, I'll contact them but it looks from their calendar that they may be booked up that week. Sidney has also sent me details of a centrally located studio.

Finally got something booked up for St Anton. Booked a studio apartment for 2 about 100 metres from the gondola at Nasserein. Only 8 months to wait Sad But on the bright side 2 other ski trips before then Smile

boabski, Yes it looks fine for 2. My daughter prefers an apartment so that on a couple of days in the week when she is particularly knackered she can insist on staying in, only problem then is I have to cook.

Just got to to sort out Saturday night now as we're flying back from Zurich late Sunday afternoon. Will ski for the day then train to either Feldkirch or back to Zurich.

Colin B, Have you tried sourcing a room in one of the St Anton hotels for one night? Think Hotel Montana does stays less than 7 nights. You also may be able to get a room in Stuben as it's much queiter. Stuben is also only a few mins from Langen station which is the same line as St Anton Zurich (but a little closer to Zurich) http://www.stuben.com/index.php?id=3&L=1

boabski, I think I'm going to strike back to Zurich, I've somewhere booked there now. If I catch the 17.30 train I'll be back at a reasonable time and can have a relaxing morning around Zurich before heading back to the airport after lunch..
