Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

First Skier-X World Champions.

The first FIS World Championships for Skier-X took place this year in the Kuusemo region of Finland.
Skier-X is a hi-octane head to head form of ski racing where four skiers race simultaneously down a course of bumps, jumps and banked corners. Elbowing and shoulder-barging tend to be considered standard race tactics and as such even hot favourites can go out of a race at any point making nothing certain till the very end. The track's steepness is between 12 and 18 degrees and must be at least 12 meters wide...

In the Women's, the great surprise came from the Austrian Karin Huttary . Winner of the semi finals, Karin was not leading the final run but was able to pass the others, finally take home the race beating Sweden's Magdalena Iljans in a photo finish. France's Ophelie David was third. Karin becomes the first ever Skier-X World Champion!

For the men, Isidor Grüner, the big favorite, was hit by another rider then fell while Lars Lewen was blocked in the last few meters of the semi finals. Tomas Kraus of the Czech Republic won the gold medal ahead of Sweden's Jesper Brugge and Audun Gronvold of Norway. Kraus dominated the World Cup circuit with three wins in six races this winter to win the overall title.

Meanwhile up in the air: Steve Omischl led a Canadian 1-2 finish in men's aerials and Nina Li won the women's event to claim China's first ever gold medal at the World Freestyle Ski Championships.

Sounds like a boardercross on skis.
