Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

CHX question - GM limited opening?

 Poster: A snowHead

Any Chamonix locals have the full skinny on what last week restricted opening means for Grands Montets? Just Pendant bowl/Hearse closed but top tickets/Bochard still open? Or more restricted e.g. Bochard only?

From the thread title "CHX question - GM limited opening?" I assumed you were referring to Changuinola (CHX) airport in Panama and the volcano problem. What a mistake.

That may be so, but how about those of us who are not clued up on Chamonix. It may have been more polite to spell the resort name correctly so we would quickly move past the topic.

Adrian, Sorry I thought your initial reponse was appropriately witty. No offence intended.

fatbob, don't know what they mean by limited opening except that the bunny slope at the bottom is closed for the season, as is the Plan Gouron (? - their spelling) chair.

All else looks fine.

 You know it makes sense.

I cannot find anything official on this, but rumour has it, that partial means that it might not be open everyday during the final week of the season. Would be good if the compagnie du mont blanc could clarify things.

cp1000, I guess you haven't looked at their website then? (They may take down the day's status in the evening, in which case you're forgiven). Clearly states what's open or not.

under a new name, on the website I can see a general opening period for each hill and also what's open today wrt specific lifts - but not what's happenening next week. Can you post a link if there is something specific to next week's "Partial opening" please - ta Happy

Since I last posted I asked an CMB ambassadeur who stated that GM will be open every day but not all lifts. (Bochard but nor Herse for example.)

So - will rock up and see.

Today is the Chamonix FreeRide Party on Grands Montets with all sorts of events. Unfortunately it is raining and not many people are there.
However GM stays open till 9 May and so far everything is open except for the Herse and the Pendent.
