This season just past Whistler had 560cm in November and the off piste skiing was fantastic long before the 1st of December and stayed that way all season.
Every year is different ......
Xmas -> New Years can be lean snow wise, but is always busy crowds wise. I don't know how the dates fall for next year , but if you are here the week, or preferably 2 weeks after the Xmas/NY week, then no problems.

Pretty sure Christmas is the 25th December this year (12/25) and New Year is 1st January (01/01).
