Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

"fly up, rip down" might be better, and less likely to make people think of trouser zip. Or how about "fly up, float down" (for the more chilled customers.....)?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

greggan, welcome to snowHead s.

Potentially dumb question, but looking at Kittelfjall's piste map, why do the lifts only go half way up the mountain?

You are right the lifts are about half ways up and give you about 450 vertical meters.
There are a future plan for a lift all the way up to the top and about 780 vertical meters will then be available.

By helicopter several 7-900 vertical meter lines are quickly accessed in the nearby area and the heli is cheep :0)
A 3 top lift is 1595 Swedish crowns = about 1595/7.6 = about 210USD

However most of the time you find the best skiing in the woods where the snow is protected from wind.

The place is fairly remote and about 800 European kilometers north of Stockholm by car.
You can also fly to a almost nearby airport and take the buss from there it will take you about
5 hours to get there from Stockholm that way.

The remote location can be counted as a drawback but is also a reason to why the fresh snow last for days.

A small headcam movie I made, skiing the woods of Kittelfjäll :

Thanks. Was wondering why a load of Swedes leave Sweden if you have terrain like that.
