Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Arcs - What happened to Chalet du Solliet?!

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We went to Solliet last year for a nice lunch (pricey, I know, but it was a birthday), and really enjoyed it. Nice food, atmosphere and an awesome set-piece fondue.

Went back last week, though, and it's completely changed. Gone is the thick leather-bound menu, replaced with paper place-mat menus, and all of the dishes we remembered. The food was ok, but nowhere near what it had been and not particularly good value. So does anyone know what happened - has it changed hands, or is the chef just taking a holiday (feels like the former, unfortunately)?

And to add insult to injury, we also found out that La Bricole in La Thuile has closed down...

(...honestly, I like skiing as well eating Embarassed )

ChrisWo, that might explain why I couldn't find anywhere called La Bricole in La Thuile on my recent trip, after having read a rave review.

ChrisWo, The proprietor of Le Solliet is now at the Arpette restaurant where a very good sit down meal can now be had. I agree about Le Solliet now being rather poor Crying or Very sad
