Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Last minute dash...keeping it social

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have a few days free for a short trip from the UK somewhere. Possibly 5 days from Tuesday. The only problem is, I don't know how long I got before I have to go back to work. I'm literally just carrying my mobile phone around with me waiting for the call to go back.

I have a campervan and I'm thinking of driving this to a resort. I've driven it to La Tania before.

But this time I'd really like to stay in some accommodation in a more social way... or something just to have some company. It's convenient but lonely in a camper on my own; get up, ski all day, get back and go to sleep early.

Compare this with a standard booked holiday: get up, have a chat over breakfast, get to the slopes with friends, ski, try sledging, try horse riding... meal together in the evening... go out have a drink... get to know other bods in the challay etc.... so much better. But those holidays are rare because they have to be planned.

Any ideas on how to avoid being a billy-no-mates on these last minute opportunistic trips? Perhaps somewhere with a hostel I can just walk in?

...I just got back from Peru where I stayed in a surf lodge type place and a hostel chain called Loki. The Loki place got everything right in terms of service but, possibly being full of white westerners and being bigger nobody really said hello to each other until rat race drunk, whereas the little surf place was loads friendlier.

Looking for that friendly hostel place like Fistral Backpackers rather than some faceless hotel again.

jago25_98, tlry La Rosiere, there's a speedriding school up on the Col de Petit San Bernardo and a parking area for campervans at the entrance to the village.
