Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Does anybody know what this is called?

We thought it was very steep and narrow.

It was opposite the mephisto superieure piste.

See also the GM trip report.

You can tell it's steep when the guy is standing up with one hand resting on the snow Shocked

(I have no idea by the way, I'm just impressed)

Some more pics from Flaine

we skied the face from top left- to middle to left. It felt steep. Compact snow. Important not to fall and slide over cliff.

from the top of the Vert drag go left and then over cornice into Gers bowl. Steep at the top, We had some good snow.

like this

not everything went to plan (spot ski)

I think this is a gully leading to Dome- which is steepish to the left of Diamant Noir

norris, the Gers bowl gave us some great skiing but there have been quite a few avalanches in it recently- some enormous ones- the drag had been closed earlier this year after a huge slide took out pylons- the debris is still massive. Skiing in the bowl to the right of the piste requires that you dodge the larger bits of debris. High up on the left (looking down in the line of the drag) the snow is good- but still quite a few slides. Right of the lift some nice skiing- quite steep. Tricky drag lift- 2 of us fell off, can't quite remember who fell off first- Embarassed Embarassed s/he had a long and pitiful walk up as the lift closed- an expensive round that.

Average age of the folk skiing the couloir over 50- including one grandmother.

ed123, yep over the years I have had some sweet days in there. Often early season when the drag isn't running and you have to go all the way to Sixt and back round on the bus! keeps the masses out though.
