I have a pair of Oakley sunglasses that I brought a few seasons back before my eyesight started to get worse and I needed to ware glasses, its now got to the point where I have to ware them all the time and hence the oakleys are never used any more (and other than the rubbish reactions lenses on my glasses I have no sun glasses.)
Knowing that its possible to buy oakleys with a prescription lens, I was just wondering if it is possible to get the lenses in a pair you already own converted to match your prescription (and what would be the process of going about this.)
2nd question, Is there anything that can be fitted to a pair of Wisdom goggles to get the prescription, I've been finding on my last couple of trips that in flat light my visibility is much worse than it used to be in similar conditions because of the fuzzyness from a lack of glasses.
If I cant get anything sorted for the goggles I guess going and buying some contacts to ware while skiing is going to be the only other option (really not keen on the whole putting something in my eye idea!)

the_fatadder, www.spex4less.com will glaze your own sunglasses with your prescription at a very good price, they've done a couple of pairs of Bolles for me. Worth contacting them to see what they can do.

my son has just had prescription lenses fitted to a pair of Oakley Monster Dogs and I happened to ask the optician if you could change the lenses in an existing pair of sunglasses as I wear contacts and thought I might want some exisiting glasses changed to prescription lenses for days I don't wear my lenses and he said it could be done. I also had a pair of precription inserts (they look like clear plastic glasses that sit inside the mask of the goggles) made for some existing Adidas goggles, which cost about 100€. I should point out that I did all this in an opticians in Moutiers as opticians in ski areas do seem to have a much better idea about goggles and sunglasses than anywhere else. Both glasses and goggles were ready in three days. Hope this helps.

the_fatadder, I know your enquiry is about specific goggle models, but you might like to know that there is a huge amount of information on SH concerning prescriptions in goggles. If you have a bash with the search function - in the menus top left, you should find numerous threads on the issue - if you search with my username and the word prescription for posts (rather than threads) you should find that I've dug up a huge amount of info regarding prescription glazing goggles and contributed to numerous threads on the issue - which should help you find the threads in question.

There's a product by Sinner called Transformer which is a hybrid goggles/glasses with the facility for a prescription lens insert. I saw them in the sunglasses shop at Cheshire Oaks recently, they were approx £30! Lots of features for the price. Might be useful for someone

the_fatadder, somewhere on the forum someone posted the contact details for Oakley UK - they can be hard to get hold of, but I would think they would be more than able to do what you want for your prescription.

Thanks for that MarjMJ, will drop them a line and see what can be done.
Having read through some of the other threads on the search I cant see any mention of using wisdoms with dodgy eyes, its either wear glasses under them (my glasses are much to big for this) or use contacts.
Guess I best be on the phone to specsavers and try and get some contacts before I head to Tignes on the 28th

the_fatadder, If/when you know your contact lense prescription I've found that its well worth looking on the internet for contacts - I can get mine by mail order - exactly the same as Boots could get for me, delivered in next to no time at vastly reduced cost. It was a hunch I followed one day that paid off. Sorry, if this is a well known tip folks, but I hadn't considered the possibility until recently and was pleased to see that loads of businesses did mail order contacts (esp. the daily disposables)

the_fatadder, Have you tried glasses specific goggles? These allow the legs of your specs to come out the sides of the goggles. This is what I use. You must have proper Deirdre Barlows then . Might be cheaper to go to specsavers and get some small lensed specs like the young people are using. I have these, including a varifocal and they fit fine inside my goggles which are a knackered pair of Cebes.
Good luck with contacts.

MarjMJ, Perhaps it depends what you try to use together, but I have proper OTG goggles and I find that if the air is damp, or I have been exercising hard that I get problems with fogging over the double layer of lenses esp. when stationary, hence going over to contacts myself.
