Has anyone recently been to Obergurgl? If so, what are the conditions like? I am heading there on sat 26th of march and am getting slightly worried about the weather forecast. It is currently hovering around 1or 2 degrees at resort level, but is forecast to increase to around 7 or 8 degrees towards the end of the week. Also, does anybody know what the long range forecast is? Cheers, Chris

Should be fine, there is stacks of snow there when we left on Saturday, and its not all going to vanish in a week - I'll be interested in how you find conditions, we're hoping to go back there at the sort of time you're going next year. If you're looking at snow-forecast then the highest temperatures refer to the village level and a lot of the ski-ing is a good 500m above that level. You can get a day release to Solden and a lot of the ski=ing there is high too. The locals seemed to think that the cold weather was going to continue for a while...
When we were there it was flippin' freezing and blowing a gale, so a bit of warmth will be welcome.

Cheers Ian-excitableboy-i went there 2 years ago in early April and the conditions were fabulous. It was snowing when we got there and conitinued for a couple of days and then it was sunny which left powder for the rest of the week. The temps were also between -5 and -15 all week....so i am hoping that this will be the case again. The only reason i worry is because of the forecast...but i think it should be ok. Ian, we're staying at the hotel jenevein (dont know if its spelt correctly) because we had friends staying there last time we went, and it was v. good and right next to the main chairlift. Where did u stay?

Chris_5000, we were in the Hotel Gotthard, which is a stones throw from the Jenewein! We had a great time there...
