Simple question - ignoring training time, practice etc - what's the shortest time 'performing' does it take to win a medal?
Mens Downhill - 1run - 1min 54secs
Ladies Downhill - 1 run - 1min 44
Mens Super G - 1 run - 1min 30
Ladies Super G - 1 run - 1min 20
Bosleigh, luge etc, whilst quick on there own all require mulitple runs...can aything beat that?
And summer games?

100m 9.58 seconds
edit: 100m has some qualifying rounds, still quick though

Got to be one of the shooting events - where total shots is multiplied by the nanosecond each shot takes to hit the target.
I REALLY wish I could find the clip of Stan Bowles shooting the table on Superstars........

Yeah if we don't count shooting, I would say ski jumping. 2 jumps around 10-15sec each. But it's pretty much useless to count such things. Sure he can "win a medal" in 10sec, but it takes just as much of an effort as for the guy who is running around 2h to win it.

Curling must surely be the least physically demanding Winter OG sport, notwithstanding the effort required to do the sweeping. That's not to belittle curling - it's a proper sport that just requires a different mix of physical and mental skills to the others.

I don't know what would be easiest one. You might not need to run for 6 hours a day, you might not need to shuffle tons of weights around, but you should do something else. When it comes to just skiing... alpine skiing is a joke compared to xc skiing, but nevertheless, you can't say alpine skiers don't train. They just do different things. I guess same goes for shooting or bob.

All the guys in the bob have to have huge explosive power, even the driver, as the start is absolutely crucial. They are usually all massive guys who can also sprint extremely quickly. One passenger and you're going to finish well down the field, if not last.

but he only has to do 5 seconds work x number of runs. I know they don't just jump in but they do 1 job less that driver and brake man.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

daehwons, that's different from 'easiest physically' tho. Heck, I'd say the shot-put in the summer games one could win with roughly two seconds of exertion (two throws, one for qualifying, one to win the final) but I doubt you'd find people describing it as physically the easiest.

Well if you think holding 40 or 50lb on your finger tips while you draw, steady the aim and release the shot, then repeating that dozens of times through the competition is easy physically I suppose archery could qualify!

Apparently skeleton bob takes the least technical nouse and sport-specific know-how, but to be the best at it you have to be a proper long-term athlete. And barking mad.
