Poster: A snowHead

Hi, for those going to Val d'Isere, I hope this is useful;
Snow is nice (I'm a standard Brit "intermediate" so take with pinch of salt) although a little grippy in the afternoon on the flat. It's VERY cold with numbers of -15 and-25 at the top being thrown around. I normally ski in April so have never been so cold skiing. (take gimp mask and thermals!)
Blue skies today but started snowing gently as the lifts closed - a cm already and should be nice tomorrow.
Finally, we ordered skis over web via Skiset from a Brit shop called Snowberry. This shop seems to be exclusively run by Brits and they are good and helpful and let you leave skis with them. Recommend them! If on a budget though, immediately opposite is a forlorn French shop called Ski Republic who are doing 2 for 1 rental with sport skis@e111 and performance@e143. Cheaper than we paid but I couldn't tell you if they are any good.
Hope this helps someone!

Snow is always nice.
How many times did you face plant?
Here is the website for Snowberry, apparently voted best Ski shop in Europe 2009. Who voted and how many of them have used an array of ski shops is unknown

Isn't it? Oh well... Care to explain?
Lovely sking in Val and Tignes with some slopes scoured by the high winds at the top. A little icy in those places but otherwise sunny and very nice today.

Actually that is tosh what I just wrote in terms of them being a British company. Ski Republic is owned by Favre Sports Group http://www.favresportsgroup.com/ who are based in France from what I can make out. Favre Sports Group was started and is headed up by a French-Australian duo. When Ski Republic (the word Republic is an English spelling) it was heavily targetted at British skiers, hence the perception at the time that it was a British company or certainly a non-French one! Here is also an article on how it got started.. http://www.cnbcmagazine.com/story/sliding-market/372/1/ I guess things have settled down a bit in terms of the attacks.
