Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski specialist Physios on here? Got knee problems

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I have a problem with my knees, now both of them:
After a few days of skiing the back of my knees swell up and make the full movement of the knee joint stiff. It feels like muscle as when the knee is bent and relaxed the swelling is soft but when leg is straight the swelling becomes hard like a muscle in tension.
Any help appreciated as by the time I can get an appointment the swelling has gone down.
Only get this with skiing
Or am I just being an old git

Rocksteadee, I get that too, if I ski hard for a day. I'm definitely an old git. I rub ibuprofen gel on them, take the tablets too, and sometimes wear a "Bioskin" knee support - http://www.ossurwebshop.co.uk/Knee-Supports/BioSkinA-Standard-Knee-Without-Straps/prod_68.html

Don't know whether the supports help, really, but I've come to the conclusion there's nothing much I can do about it. My leg muscles are quite strong, and they're fine, but I have put my knee problems (both knees, and sometimes they get so warm you can feel the heat through a pair of denim jeans) down to old age and mild arthritis.

Take a long lunch and don't ski the bumps. wink
