Snow Reports

Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

they were all right 10 years ago, but technology has changes a fair bit mostly in terms of boot which are more foot shaped
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

yes, and what cem said. They were popular at the time but my much newer ones are in a totally different class. That said if you are buying secondhand anyway then they are not a bad choice, of my group of 5, 3 of us had them with very few fit complaints despite no fitting service at all (I was young and foolish) and I am pretty sure one of us is still using his! aj xx

Still wearing mine 10 years after purchase & counting and mega miles of skiing (3 weeks per year on average with very little fannying around).
In 10 years of fairly hard skiing:I've fitted them with 2 new buckles (just last year), a new set of moulded insoles for comfort/performance enhancement(~30 yoyos in Andorra ~2006) & just sent to a cobbler to restitich the velcro to straps a bit- not bad for a pair of boots that well travelled I'd say!!
(having said all that, try to ascertain if seller has a narrower foot than you (i.e. ask them), so that you will be expanding lining & be prepared to fit a proper set of heat moulded insoles to them after purchase (on sale in most resorts) & then only wear thin socks thereafter. A very cost effective way to go I'd say - i.e. a proven boot, with insole for less than 50 yoyos- how bad hey!!)
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks for all the advice, much appreciated.
