Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

First skis

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I am looking to buy my first pair of skis as we are going on holiday in 2 weeks to canada.
I am a female who is about 5ft7/160 and a low intermediate level, I have been on 2 skiing holidays and rented both times I have also had dry slope skiing lessons but want to improve my skiing so I can ski with my boyfriend who is a good skier.
I am confused as to what skis to buy....so many to choose from and because our holiday is over a week its cheaper to buy a pair of my own skis that I could carry on using after I get better as I would like to keep going on ski holidays.
Can anyone give me some ideas of good skis for female high beginner? And does anyone have any idea about what size I would need? I also have my own boots so I need advise on bindings for size 6.

Thank you
Ruth

ruthc86, welcome to the board.

Have you thought about demoing while on holiday?

ruthc86, Try Dynastar skis who make good ladies piste skis. Don't buy a beginner ski because you'll quickly outgrow them. Have a look on their website - there is a product finder. For ease, I'd go with 160cm, if you're 5'7" that's 170cm.

I've just bought my first skis and went for Dynastar Active which are meant to be good for progression. Not tried them yet - going on 6BB.
