Plenty of skiing in and around La Plagne itself, however if like me you like to get out somewhere different everyday definitely head over the Vanoise Express

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

IMHO, there's more than enough to go at in La Plagne - which is why, last year, we bought LP only passes.
But, it depends on what you like.

mugen, If in Belle Plagne this is in my opinion the best spot in the whole of Paradski for belting around the whole area. Indulge yourself buy the Paradski pass and go mental. Les Arcs is very different to La Plagne, you are in a great location to try both.

When in La Plaqne buy the Paradiski pass, when in Les arcs buy the Les arcs pass. Just my opinion

thefatcontroller, It's just that Les arcs is my favorite resort in what must be the best ski area in the world (again just my opinion) OK I don't own a place there but have about 10 weeks combined between the 2 resorts, which I feel is enough to form an opinion. End of, it's just my opinion.

If you are there for a week you are better of with the discovery pass so that you can come to les Arcs for the day. That is enough.

mugen, All the info you need is here http://www.la-plagne.com/en/winter-holidays/ski-area/lift-pass/la-plagne-integrale.html LaPlagne 6 day pass €208 + €27.50 for day extension to Les Arcs, which you have to have if only for a ride on the Vanoise Express. You might as well pay another €13.50 and get an unlimited 6 day pass.
thefatcontroller, Boredsurfing, I am biassed towards Les Arcs mainly because on the 2 occasions I have stopped in LaPlagne, and to be fair on both occaisions it was towards the end of the season, the pistes quite frankly were left ungroomed for days with no effort to keep in good condition for the many lift pass paying punters still in the resort. On the 2nd occasion it was the openning year of the VE and I could not believe the stark difference between the 2 resort's, Les Arcs was groomed to perfection. Now I know this is not going to suit all, but it suits me.
The second reason is, as a family we know Les Arcs very well and because we are so familiar with the place now, if my wife tries really hard she can ski the resort with me and not be a pain in the A$$ (She is one of these that needs to know the terrain like the back of her hand before letting go, good technique but a tad nervous). And if I try really hard I can ski the resort with my kids (young men now) without me being too much a pain in the A$$, suppose the fact that I still pay for the beer and lunch is also a factor here
So there you have it, my reason's for preferring Les Arcs to La Plagne.
